Releases JamPod Guitar Amp Module For iPod

Inc. announces the April 8th shipping date of its new JamPod plug-in
guitar practice amp module for the iPod and iPod mini. "We have talked
with many of the millions of guitar and bass players who own iPods,"
said Chuck Leonard, DVForge's Executive Vice President, "And, a frequent
request from these musicians has been to have a way to conveniently plug
in their instrument, and play along with the music on their iPod or iPod
mini. We have developed the JamPod as the perfect gadget for making that
wish come true."
JamPod is a 1.6" x 1.6" x .5" gloss white module that plugs into the
headphone jack and the remote port on top of any dock connector model
iPod or iPod mini. The JamPod is powered by the iPod, so requires no
batteries. Inside the JamPod is the same high quality miniature guitar
amplifier circuitry used in our company's JamPlug product. There is a
mixer circuit that is controlled by the top-mounted volume wheel to
adjust the output level into the earbuds or headphones. A 48-inch white
guitar cord is included for connecting a guitar or bass to the JamPod.
JamPod works with any electric guitar, electric bass, or other
instrument that sends a guitar-level output signal through a 1/4-inch
instrument jack. The product will begin shipping on April 8th at a MSRP
of $29.99, and is available today for prepaid pre-order from the DVForge

DJ is showing the new rack-mountable DN-D6000 Professional Dual CD/MP3
Player. The ongoing expansion of Denon DJ’s acclaimed line of Dual
CD/MP3 Players further underscores the company’s position as the
preeminent manufacturer of high quality, cutting-edge products for the
DJ and professional audio industries.
The DN-D6000 boasts an extensive MP3 feature set and Next Track Reserve
with Crossfade function. This not only makes the DN-D6000 perfectly
suited to mobile DJs, club DJs and other working DJs, but the inclusion
of the Unattended Playback on Power-Up function also renders the
DN-D6000 ideal for bars and restaurants, especially at opening time.
The DN-D6000’s advanced MP3 playback mode fully supports MP3
capabilities including: seamless looping with B Point Trim, scratching,
hot starts and MP3 effects; CBR and VBR (constant or variable bit rate)
encoding up to 320 kbps; ID3 Tags (files embedded into the MP3 that
display Title, Artist, Album); and MP3 File Search System (offering fast
and easy file location by name).
The DN-D6000 includes another Denon world’s first — the Next Track
Reserve function. This allows the DJ to store hundreds of MP3s on one
disc and play them back-to-back. The DJ is able to search for a song by
name and crossfade seamlessly to that file for a smooth, non-stop mix.
The crossfade time is user-adjustable, and Next Track Reserve is also
available for CD audio discs.
In addition to advanced MP3 functionality, the DN-D6000 includes 7
essential onboard effects such as Scratch, Reverse, Brake, Filter,
Flanger, Echo and the world’s first Echo Loop, which can loop a 1/4 beat
up to a 8/1 beat indefinitely, allowing a DJ to overlay another track or
even a new disc for a seamless crossfade mix. Other useful features
include: quick loading Slot-In drives; 15-second On-Board Sampler with
Pitch, B-Trim, Volume control and 3-way playback (Loop/Single/All) edit
options; Platter Effects including Drag-Start, Brake and Reverse effects
that can be used for MP3 or CD audio discs; 2 seamless loops; B Point
loop Trim; 70 mm Jog Disc with user-definable paper slipmats; and a
3-way BPM counter (Automatic, Tapping, Manual). Additionally, with
features such as Fast Search/Manual Search and Quick Jump, the DN-D6000
makes searching fast and easy, enabling DJs to literally “jump” around
within a CD or MP3 track using precise adjustable increment time steps.
For the ultimate in control and “feel” during live performance, a
special Platter Hold function provides Pitch Bend by the scratch disc of
up to ±100%. Additionally, ID3 Tags are supported for MP3 files, which
allow the DJ to view the Artist, Album and Title of a particular file. A
real-time Instant Start (0.02 seconds) playback mechanism and 20-second
Shock Proof Memory ensure instant audio playback and uninterrupted
performance. In addition, the DN-D6000 features a Fader Start Control
terminal that’s compatible with all Denon DJ mixers, and 17 customizable
preset functions so DJs can tailor functionality to their individual
needs.

Playlist History
A new "history" function gives a detailed overview about all recently
played tracks. The list can also be printed out or exported - especially
useful for professional DJs who have to take care of license payments to
copyright associations.
Further improvements include support for multiple MIDI controllers,
visual time grids in the waveform displays, a powerful library search
function, a revised user interface with several skins to choose from,
and a large number of new MIDI and keyboard assignable controls.
The update to version 2.6 is available now as a free download for all
registered users of TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.5.
The full version of TRAKTOR DJ Studio 2.6 will be available in mid March
for a suggested retail price of $229/ 199 Euro from authorized dealers
and in the NI Online Shop.
A demo version of TRAKTOR DJ Studio 2.6 is also available now as a free

Aphex’ Model 230 is a high-quality, analog, single-channel preamplifier
and voice processor. Its comprehensive features include RPA™ tube
preamplification, Easyrider™ compression, Logic Assisted™ gating, split
band de-essing, parametric EQ, and Aphex’ Aural Exciter® and Big Bottom®
psychacoustic effects, all in a single space, rackmountable package. The
Model 230 implements an XLR mic input and +4dBu output, a 1/4” TRS
–10dBV output, 1/4” TRS send and receive insert, AES3, S/PDIF and
Optical digital outputs up to 96kHz, plus word clock I/O on BNCs.
Another convenient feature on the Model 230 is a simple to implement
contact closure to ground Cough switch on a mono 1/4” connector.

The Model 230’s preamplifier section incorporates Aphex’ proprietary
Reflected Plate Amplifier tube circuit, 20dB pad, switchable 48V phantom
power, and Phase Rotator and Polarity inversion. Compression is handled
with Aphex’ Easyrider™ auto-compression circuit, with an adjustable
release control. The Logic Assisted gate allows for adjustment of
threshold and depth, and the de-esser offers a separate threshold
control. The Model 230’s parametric EQ is optimized around human voice
frequencies (240Hz – 4500Hz), and allows for attenuation or boosting of
the frequency range ±12dB. A bandwidth control allows for a Q from .5 to
5 octaves.
Aphex’ patented Aural Exciter® and Big Bottom®, longtime favorites for
voice processing, are included in the Model 230, each offering
individual tune and mix controls. A master output level rounds out the
well-designed front panel. In addition to its analog input, analog
output and myriad of digital outputs included standard with the Model
230, the processor also offers a post-compressor send and return. The
digital outputs provide up to 96kHz sampling rates. A word clock input
and output allow the Model 230 to be digitally locked with other
equipment. For on-air applications, the Model 230 also includes an input
that responds to a cough switch.
